Thomas Beck from Plasmasolutions, has been making videos showing some of the new features that have been dropped off into trunk, which will be making its official appearance in Blender v2.7. The most recent video shows off changes made to Blender UI, which are some vertical tabs akin to the MODO UI, but with the handy addition of pins that allow you to keep select tab controls to remain accessible when clicking on other tabs. Don't know what that means? Watch the video :)

Published:  January 05, 2014    Category:  General    Published by:  GriT
This Sunday Flashback is a revisit of the old Maya-on-the-Mac OS logo, which was designed to reflect the Aqua UI. The first version of Maya for Mac OSX shipped September 19, 2001 - of course, to mixed reviews. There were huge doubts for both non-Mac and Mac users alike, largely the result of the $7500USD price tag...

Krita’s Year in Review

Published:  January 01, 2014    Category:  2D Graphics, Software    Published by:  GriT
See this summary of everything that has happened to the Krita Project (aka Krita/the application) in the year 2013. It's nice to read the breakdown of all the releases, the work surrounding the Windows version release and touch support, closed bugs and wishes, the number of contributors to Krita, major features of the year and what is essentially a detailed receipt of where/how monetary donations were spent...to the last cent! It's not often (or ever really) that you see this level of transparency and openness...certainly, one can have full confidence when donating to these guys, knowing that every last cent will be spent effectively. Oh yeah - and here's to the start of a new year! Best wishes to you all for 2014!!
