GEAR, developed by Jeremie Passerin, is an open source project to provide a complete and production quality tool set for rigging and animation inside Autodesk Softimage. It includes a lot of tools to ease the rigging and animation process. MGear is the adaptation of the same modular rigging system for Autodesk Maya.

Ever needed to line up elements to an onscreen grid? Take a look at DH_GridX, a generator for Final Cut Pro X and Motion 5 which displays a grid with up to 30 divisions. DH_WideSafeX is a video generator for Final Cut Pro X and Motion 5 which provides 4:3, 14:9 and 16:9 action and title safe areas for 16:9 aspect ratio sequences.
Marco Alici, a Mechanical Design Engineer, shows how to create a nice spiral phone cable. He's already got all the parts to the phone as CAD models, so he just brings them into Blender and jumps straight to modeling the spiral cable which he will later rig and deform.
London-based Chinese creative designer Jing Zhang will demonstrate how to animate a series of 2D graphics using bones and inverse kinematics in Flash CS4. Jing will be using the Bone tool and provides the support files for you to download and follow along - or swap them with your own graphic text components.
Tutorial on character composition and vector shading by Russian illustrator Zutto using Illustrator (or you can use a *free* vector program like Inkscape if you don't have Illustrator). Zutto shows how you can take a initial pencil/paper sketch and turn it out into a nice playful composition.
This Composite 2012 Hotfix includes several important fixes and applies to Maya 2012, 3ds Max / 3ds Max Design and Softimage. Fixes include vector paint performance issues, composition no longer drops textures when rendered on multiple machines, preference and viewport controls and settings and more.
